Gary Leon Holloway, Jr., 46, pleaded guilty Thursday, March 21 to committing an armed robbery and to using, carrying and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, US Attorney for the District of Maryland Erek L. Barron said in a joint release.

Holloway’s plea stated that he and his co-conspirators “planned and committed” armed robberies of three businesses. Investigators later found that he was related to both co-defendants.

On January 4, 15, and 22 of 2020, Holloway and at least one co-defendant “robbed cellphone stores in Ellicott City, Glen Burnie, and Dundalk, Maryland, respectively,” Barron said. Holloway wielded a gun each time, and he and his co-defendant stole cellphones and other electronic devices.

The first robbery also involved Holloway stealing the wallets of two employees, and in the third robbery, they forced the employees to open and empty the safe and stole cash in addition to the cellphones and electronic devices.

Holloway and his co-defendants — the other robber and the getaway driver — were arrested following the third robbery on January 22, 2020.

If Holloway’s plea agreement is accepted, he will be sentenced to 14 years in federal prison. Scheduling is sentenced for June 21, 2024.
